    Default Did the Yankees really need Vazquez?

    He's a fine pitcher, but it seems they now have too many pitchers and not enough outfielders. Was it a smart trade for them?

    The Yankees have to many of everything. It is an absolute joke there is no salary cap in the MLB. How can any teams expect to compete when the Yankees are spending the bank of the world giving hundreds of million dollar contracts and always acquiring all-star caliber players.

    I completely agree, a salary cap would be great.

    However, toss that aside. From a purely baseball perspective, was it a smart move for them?

    I mean it will only make them better right?? He is a good pitcher, but i do agree about this move being almost pointless towards bettering their team which seems to be the best anyways.

    I actually think so. I HATE the Yankees but they could use one more starter as they don't necessarily always want there guys going on three days rest. Good pick up by the Yanks.
